What's the best paint colour? 🤷‍♀️

Sage green or duck egg blue would be my choice!

I’d go for something traditional like sage or cream. Is your wisteria purple or paler pink?

RuudGullitOnAShed · 14/05/2020 21:07

Oxford blue

HighNetGirth · 14/05/2020 21:08

Agree with sage green or a very trad dark green. Or, try dark brown. Little Greene Paint Company do fantastic colours for doors including one called Purple Brown which is lovely.

Dark teal or racing green.

Aposterhasnoname · 14/05/2020 21:12

I agree with oxford blue.

(That’s from streetview - wisteria is in flower atm)

What colour/material are your walls? Do you have neighbours?
We live in a terrace with a shared entrance, so had to take our neighbour's door colour into consideration when deciding on the colour of our front door as we didn't want the colours to 'clash' or be too similar.

HeadOfHomeschool · 14/05/2020 23:08

Flowers are purple.
No neighbouring door.
I'm liking the oxford blue & teal

What colour is your brickwork /paintwork otherwise? I saw a pale pink door on a house covered in wisteria - it looked very effective.
Yellow and purple are complimentary colours so you could go for yellow if you feel bold, it will make the purple pop.

I have a pink wisteria and a duck egg blue wooden door.
I really want a baby pink or light orange door, but not brave enough! (Plus I'm having building work done, so will wait for that to finish).
My next choice would be sage.
The insta 'prettylondon' often has photos of beautiful London doors with lovely paint colours.

Sorry it's: pretty little London

Thanks!
House is 1930's 1/2 red brick & 1/2 white paint - although am considering painting the white a slate colour to match the wall in the front.

Hague Blue. It's a lovely deep blue, which would complement wisteria and brick.

Grumpyunleashed · 15/05/2020 09:29

If it climbs on the side / front of the house I’d cut it down and get a nice red door composite door.
Otherwise no idea.🧨🪓

If your house is brick/white/neutral - you can paint the door virtually any colour. If you do proceed with painting the white portion of the facade slate grey, then I you are more limited as you will need to consider this colour as well as the green/purple of the wisteria.

If you go to F&B or Little Greene website they do 'colour schemes' at the bottom of the page for each colour. Choose the colour you would like to paint your wall and then have a look at the colour schemes. Here is an example using urbane grey;

www.littlegreene.com/paint/collection/grey/urbane-grey-225

'Juniper Ash' or 'Echo' look nice with urbane grey.

You can repeat this exercise for any colour - maybe choose a colour similar to your wisteria blooms and look at the colour scheme for some inspiration :)
