Decking

Yes I know about the rat thing.....

Anyway been quoted £3500 to remove knocked deck and replace with high quality composite. It’s about 20 sq metres.

Seems a lot but I think the materials are twice the price of wood. Love the idea of zero maintenance but seems a lot of money.

Any experiences of it or anyone had a similar quote?

Well the current deck can be burned so no disposal costs... No idea on composite decking frankly but I hate decks! It sounds high to me will only be 6-700 for the boards (they might get them cheaper through trade accounts) plus base, probably about the same, rest is labour

We have composite decking and its really expensive. Ours is about 25sq/m and ours was £2,600 3 years ago - that was supply only with nothing to remove. If £3.5k includes removal and building of new deck, sounds like a great deal.

Thanks.
