Recommend a nice white for kitchen cupboards

I'm getting new kitchen cupboards which I will paint myself. Looking for a nice white, in a durable satin/low sheen eggshell that is a pleasure to paint with. The walls are milk white by crown, and we have white metro tiles with anthracite coloured grout... Any recommendations? Not bothered about price, just getting a great quality paint that is easy to use and maintain.

Haven't had chance to try it myself yet, but people rave about Frenchic paint. Have a look at the Frenchic Fan Forum on Facebook, there's loads of pictures of kitchen renovations and they seem a friendly bunch, posting tips etc.

Thanks. I have used chalk paint before elsewhere and I am far from convinced that it's suitable for a kitchen. It's great stuff, but I just wouldn't risk it on that as I want it to last. I appreciate the suggestion though, thank you!

Definitely use paint that is designed for cupboards - it will need a few coats, and use a mini roller (not a brush!!), but it's the only thing that will get the right finish (and last!). We just used one from B&Q that was plain white, so not a particularly 'nice' shade, but very durable.

You're welcome Smile In our last house the kitchen cupboards had been sprayed with Laura Ashley buttermilk paint, and it lasted really well. I loved it. It was a bit knackered when we left admittedly, but we were there for 10 years and they'd done it at least 12 months before we moved in! Good luck with your project!
