Help, there's a moose loose aboot this house!

Just that really. It's been in the cupboard under they stairs, where I keep the dog food and Bird seed. I've removed the food and cleaned out the cupboard but yesterday I heard scratching from behind the couch against the living room wall the other side of the cupboard (stud and plasterboard wall). I pulled the couch out a bit so I could see into the corner and there is a hole in the plaster and some nibbled paper.

I'm pretty sure it's also been in the larder cupboard in the kitchen (Yeuch). I've ordered (humane) traps but don't know how long they'll take to come.

Does anyone have any advice on how to deter/get rid of it? I don't want to use poison.

It may have a family too. Can you try and trap it by putting a box in front of the hole with some food in it then try and slip a piece of card or plastic at the end. They are fast little buggers. Can you borrow a cat.

The nibbled paper may be nesting material
