Sorry my second post about paints today. Anyone have this paint. It seems popular. My husband has chosen this out of our samples but I'm worried it's a bit pinky. Our room is north west facing and will be in our open plan kitchen living dining room. Our kitchen will be dark blue. Would love to hear your experiences of it. Thanks

I have it almost all over my house and it's more of a warm grey beige than pink

Elephantscantfly · 10/05/2020 16:52

I love this, not at all pink on my walls, takes on the tone of the furniture, furnishings in the room.

islandislandisland · 10/05/2020 16:57

Not pinky- I have it in my porch, kitchen and third bedroom and wish I'd done the living room in it too. It's a much more interesting alternative to cream/magnolia colours

Rhica · 10/05/2020 17:46

Ah thanks for the reassurance. I was trying to move away from completely grey to one with a beige undertone so sounds like it will be what I am looking for.

My other concern is how dark it is. Especially with it being a North facing too. I was hoping it would be a shade lighter than it is. Although incidentally that is what my husband likes about it surprisingly

I don't think it's dark at all once dried! Guess it depends on the room. It'll look really nice with dark blue, wish id thought of that now!

MakingASilkPurse · 10/05/2020 19:28

We did a room with it and most of the time it looks pale grey, but sometimes there is a bit of a lilac hue and there is no lilac or similar in the room.

Unknown2020 · 10/05/2020 19:57

I’ve recently painted our kitchen and utility this colour. In our house it’s 100% a dusky pink, it definitely wasn’t the colour I was going for but I really like it now

Unknown2020 · 10/05/2020 19:58

Also it’s not dark. It’s a fairly light colour but feels really cosy.

Flamingolingo · 10/05/2020 20:00

We had it in our old house, in a west-facing bedroom. Mostly it was quite grey. Not any pink in it that I remember

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 10/05/2020 20:40

Once its dry it isnt dark at all. Its one of those weird ones that looks darker when wet.

Chocolate1984 · 10/05/2020 21:06

I have Just Walnut in my kitchen and wish I’d used it elsewhere. I’d say it’s more of a greige. I have oak cabinets with dark great worktops. It’s not dark at all either.

Rhica · 10/05/2020 21:17

@MakingASilkPurse @Unknown2020 are your rooms north facing at all? Wondering if thats what makes the difference. Like the sound of cozy. That's what I'm after.

@Chocolate 1984 is that you wish you used it elsewhere because you like it that much? Or wish you used it elsewhere as in regret using it in your kitchen?

Mostly positive experiences so think I'm going to go for it. Its wierd it seems to have changed colour since I first wrote this post. Maybe still drying or maybe as it got darker outside? I've put it next to a very grey sample which is maybe why it looks more pinky? Thank you all for replying x

It has a pinky tone in our house, I loved it in my friends house, thought it was the perfect colour, didn’t even finish the room I was doing.

thethoughtfox · 10/05/2020 21:38

It's delicious. It's not a hint of pink in our house. It's warm grey.

Unknown2020 · 10/05/2020 21:38

My kitchen is south facing. I like it that much now that I’m considering using it for another room I need to paint.

MakingASilkPurse · 10/05/2020 22:18

I used it in a southeast facing room if that helps

Cottipus · 11/05/2020 09:05

We have it in one of our bedrooms and it’s one of my favourite neutrals. Much more modern than creamy shades. The windows in the room face north and south.

It has a sapphire salute feature wall which matches really well.

wowfudge · 11/05/2020 12:34

We used this once in our hall, stairs and landing and it was an awful peachy pink colour. We went and bought something else to paint over it with. Get a tester and try that on different walls before you commit.

wowfudge · 11/05/2020 12:36

Actually, the Dulux Visualiser app is pretty good at showing what a colour which actually look like in your room. It showed that Mellow Mocha would look lilac on our living room walls.

Serendipper · 11/05/2020 12:38

I loved it in my old house, no pink at all

Rhica · 13/05/2020 08:35

Thanks again everyone. I've done a sample in the actual room now and it doesn't look pink so 🤞🤞. Still apprehensive as I've had some painting disasters in the past and ait seems some mixed experiences although mainly positive. Can always repaint if I don't like it although might cost me my husband 😂

Sorry, my post was confusing. I love the colour. I wish I had used it in more rooms.
