Anyone have a 'Combined Two-In-One Wash Basin & Toilet'?

We've a downstairs cloakroom where the entrance door is along the long side of a rectangle. The outside walls are one on the outside wall and the other on an inner.
The loo backs onto the outside wall and was originally without a wash basin. We had one put in on the opposite short wall but this means its waste pipe runs along the inner wall opposite the door.

One of these 'Combined Two-In-One Wash Basin & Toilet' was suggested by a plumber. Does anyone have one? It would be a much tidier solution to the downstairs loo.

Oh yeah forgot to say it's 80cm width the short wall.

Wow - that’s pretty neat!

I've used one at a friends house and it was great!

I saw one in a café toilet in San Francisco 25 years ago and have always wondered why they didn’t get more widely used. It was brilliant.

Just wondered in a confined space how easy it is to lean past the loo to wash your hands?

I've got one in my separate loo. It was one of the cheaper ones, and a plumbing friend fiddled about with it to get out to work properly but it's worked out well. We've had it for about three years now.
No problem reaching across to wash hands.
After flushing and washing hands, some people (looking at you, DH) drip water onto the lid as they reach across for the towel, but I will resite the towel rail in time.

To get it to work properly, that should read.

sbplanet · 09/05/2020 13:29

Lol @Giggorata. Yes, I was thinking stuff like that. But it would look so much neater than a waste pipe part way down the wall that drains into the loo's soil pipe.
Is your loo tiled or have you made a splashback around the basin?

My parents have one, it works well in a small en-suite

At the moment, I have a splash back round the basin but the plan is to either tile or tongue and groove the whole (tiny) room, when our builders can come. One wall is already tongue and grooved and painted in some silk wipe down finish, which I like.
(I have half tongue and grooved walls in my main bathroom, too, instead of tiling, which are finished in yacht varnish.)

We had one put in our tiny downstairs loo in January and it's perfect for the space. I found the 'splash back' in Ikea and it's a perfect space saving solution. You just need to remember to grab the paper before you sit down!
