Home sauna

Has anyone got a home sauna, and if so, do you use it? Pros and cons? Would you recommend or not?

I’ve seen a few around the £800-£1k mark. Infrared rather than coal. I’ve saved hard for my new ‘luxury’ bathroom & wonder if I should include this or not. The size would be around 900 x 900/1000 so just 1 person, with a glass door. It would by adjoining/next to a shower of the same size & style

DH thinks I’m nuts. I usually am wrong, someone please tell me straight!

We are having a steam room fitted as my DH wants one. I don’t think it’ll get used after the first 3 months. We won’t have time. He disagrees. Bet I’m right though.

We have an infrared Sauna and I love it.
Great for soothing aches and pains or just to relax after a working day.
It's technically a two person one but you are quite up close and personal if there are two of you so we tend to use it individually.

Ours is ten years old, we've had to have it repaired once - think it cost just under £1000 - money well spent.

Forgot to say I love the idea of incorporating it into your bathroom.

Embarrassingly ours is in the corner of a downstairs bedroom which does have an ensuite, but has become a general dumping ground so the sauna experience means climbing over a toolbox and workbench.

The idea was to make the en-suite bigger and incorporate the sauna and then what had been the bedroom was going to become a cloakroom/laundry area but it just never happened

Thanks for the replies! @MattieRoss how big approx is your sauna? How often would you say you use it? Any pros/cons?

110cm deep and 120cm wide

I go through phases of using it a lot - I get a very stiff shoulder so when that is bad I use it three or four times a week as it really helps

Otherwise, once a week perhaps
