balcony screen ideas please

it needs to let through some light.
balcony is tiny, would need to be 90x200cm, most I can find start at 400cm.
bamboo looks shit after a year, so that's out.

maybe I'm just not looking for the right term...

Is the balcony glass or railings?

it's metal railings

Simple white material of some sort tied to the railings, to pass through the light? A sheet or something more permanent like that plastic box-structure sheet you get about 3mm thick.

But if you have a google there are lots of other ideas that might work for you rather than bamboo

I like it as it is. Airy and pleasant.

I like it, but it's very overlooked by the communal garden below and neighbours either side.
my 5am cuppa on a workday I like to have privacy.

Could you order some Perspex sheeting that was cloudy rather than clear cut to the size you need ? A conservatory company may be able to help.
A roller blind fixed to the floor, you pull it up and hook it to the top.

Is everyone looking up at you then - at 5am? How unusual. I’d risk that and assume no one was bothered about looking at me. Are you the only home with a balcony or is there a myriad of screens on other balconies? I guess you knew it wasn’t private when you bought it. Most balcony screens are ugly except opaque glass.

I wonder if Screen with Envy would be able to do a panel that big, I keep eyeing up their fences/screens

So you are not dressed at 5am? What are you wearing then when the dog walkers pass?

I like the idea of a roller blind, then you can pull it up and down as needed as it's a nice view, I wouldn't mind someone seeing me out there but I wouldn't want them to chat to me at 5am either
