Building work - now what?

We were, pre lockdown, planning on commencing a home reno project (knock a wall, refurbish, new kitchen, bifolds etc) to start end April. The week before lockdown, we pressed the pause in light of what was coming. Now it looks like there might be some lessening of lockdown now we are past the peak. Definitely not back to 'normal' but heading in the right direction hopefully. The work itself would probably take around 8-10 weeks. What would you do? Crack on when allowed or kick it down the can to 2021?

We are going to crack on with ours. Builder half way through. He can use the front door and all the other jobs are outside. Just won’t be having lunch with him like we were before. I think if you haven’t started I would be inclined to wait unless it is something pressing that if you leave it means the condition of the house deteriorates.

Get on with it!

As long as you can socially distance from any builders etc and everything is available would carry on.

We're awaiting on planning for chimney and need chimney and roof doing urgently - we can shut off part of our house for builder etc giving them own bathroom / electricity and area for food / drinks, rest is outside. Atm we are facing huge listed/planning delays then specialist bricks and mortar companies are closed, scaffholding isn't been given licences, tips are shut, builder happy to work, 20% of roofing firm can work. Once we are able, well if really we will go ahead as urgent.

It is worth checking everything is operating before you start a project though, things you don't even think about much, take for granted are closed.
