Sticking horizontal plastic 'bars' back on double glazed windows.

I'm not sure what the technical term for these is but I have double glazed windows which have those white plastic bars which go across horizontally to make it look like it's 3 small panes of glass rather than one big one. In the past few months three of the bars have fallen off various windows.

Now, with lots of time on my hands, I'm thinking about trying to stick them back on. It looks like they were originally stuck on with some kind of heavy duty double sided tape but a quick Google hasn't brought up an answer to what this is called or where I can buy it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How about No More Nails or something like Superglue?

You are right. Its a double sided sticky tape thing. Please do not use anything else. Think you should be able to get it in most builders merchants/DIY place. Just check the thickness....you will need it not to be very deep. Look glass fitters may be able to help sourcing stuff

It’s called Georgian Bar Tape. Basically just a thinner double sided tape which is UV resistant.

Lots of places supply it but I know Reddiseals supply it and are still open.

Do the bars notch into the outer frame?
If not, would the windows look better without the bars?

We replaced our windows which had cross bars on them with plain frames and the difference is amazing. It's not so much the tiny bit of extra light, it's more that now when we are in a room we look out, and our focus is the garden beyond when before it was the intervening bars that pulled our focus

Thanks Squirreltamer that's exactly what I was looking for.

BruceAndNosh that's an interesting suggestion but i live in a second floor flat and the bars are inside and out so removing them is not an option.

I love windows with bars! We had them in our old house and not in this house, much prefer them, give a little something extra!
