Freestanding Bath & Bathtime

We are choosing a new bathroom at the moment and thinking of a freestanding bath ... has anyone found it too deep to be comfortable bathing little ones? We are expecting our first in June and I think it might be an issue but can't see anyone who has mentioned this...

Don't. You'll want all their toys and maybe baby shampoo within an arms reach (one handed). I found a corner bath that had a sitting area in the very corner was utterly brilliant. Lots of space around the edge and if you wanted you could take a seat and paddle :)

Had a cast iron claw footed tub in our last house. It was lovely for us but a pain in the arse for bathing DD. Biggest issue was the amount of water spilled down the back / ends which pooled on the lino and was a massive pain to mop up. Loved moving into a house with a boring modern tub, sealed to the tiles on three sides.

I wanted a freestanding bath but didn’t really have the space. We ended up choosing a back to the wall bath which I’m very happy with.

Thank you - this looks like a good compromise! Where did you get it from?

We had a free standing bath in our last house - deep, double ended - a modern version not too dissimilar to the photo before but completely free standing. Had it through pregnancy, newborns and toddler twins (they were 3.5 when we moved). Loved it, have never had the space in other houses - its one of the main things we miss. We had bath seats once the babies were sitting up, water spillage wasnt an issue and once they were in bed and we got to use it, it was bliss!

I find a freestanding bath great with kids - really deep, can splash loads and none comes over the edge. When they were babies I had a baby bath - a baby doesn't really need a while bath full of water!

I've got one, I absolutely detest it!! I can't wait until I can afford to re-do the bathroom so I can get rid of it.
