Combination grill/microwaves

I'm having a new kitchen and am thinking about getting a combination grill microwave as a built in 2nd oven. Does anyone have any experience of them? I would like it to be a decent grill. Neff do a lovely looking one to combine with their fan oven with slide and hide door but @£800 for each I'm bulking at the price. Is it worth the extra?

There was a thread about this recently.

I have a Miele one and really like it.

I have a stand alone...Panasonic. it's my third one over the years. So convenient!

Sorry to wade in but I'm in a similar boat, however, I'd rather have a combi microwave oven, rather than a double oven. They're very expensive and not as common as the grill/microwave combi. Wondered if worth the money?

You can get a 60cm normal oven and 45cm combi microwave stacked one above the other.
Yes cost more than a conventional double oven but much slicker in appearance (no microwave on counter) and many more uses...

we have a delonghi combined microwave convection one and its ace for small amounts of food as in a couple of pies doing jacket potatoes etc, it cost £400 but that was five years ago and its still working the same as it did new, the good thing is you can set the convection and timer, put food in and walk away without having to constantly check your food I love mine use it more than the big cooker, the only function on it that isn't brilliant is the grill being electric it takes longer than a gas one would

yes @johnstonfont that's what I'm looking at doing :)

I'm looking for one too ( and had a similar reaction to the price of the Neff one!) OP, could you please link to the thread you found on this?

I've found the Feb thread!

I am on my second one. Had a zanussi for about 10 years before it packed in and a Smeg now. The Zanussi was slightly easier to use but the Smeg has more internal space so works better as a second oven. I use it most days as an oven or a microwave (although I rarely use the grill function as my main oven has pyrolitic cleaning)

I have a largish family and a smallish kitchen. It's a godsend. Well worth the money in the long run. I really rely on it.

I have one but I honestly have no idea how to use it
