How often do you re-paint your woodwork?

Do you strip it all off or just sand?.

Prob every 5 years depending on the room and use. Don't strip pain off unless was thick and peeling like but not had to do that for years. However, we sand it really well with a good power sander, then follow up with a smaller sander for edges and corners and then a final sand with a very fine grade sandpaper. In between coats and very gentle sanding by hand only.

Oh and don't use water based paints in a high use area were it gets bashed as they chip off. Use oil based undercoat, and paint
