what kind of sealand do I need for this?

We have a shower-tray that I'd like to convert into a water-source for birds.
I would be grateful if someone could please tell me what I should use to seal up the drainage hole - anything that calls itself "sealant"?

A plug and external silicon sealant would do the job, or external window frame acrylic sealant.

I desperately miss my local hardware shop where I bring in my items, plonk it on the counter, tell them my plans, get laughed at, and then get sold something for about 90p which they then take round the back and put together for me. It's a service well worth the sexist jokes :)
