Reroofing a bay window - how much

Hi all. We have two lovely bay windows on our property, and one desperately needs to be reroofed. If we are having one done then we figure really we should have both done so they match. We have only managed to get one quote so far but it was £6k, this seems very expensive to me. Has anybody has something like this done and could give an idea of what it cost. This was for basically replacing everything, timbers, tiles, felt, flashing and guttering.

Obviously not aware of the size of the bay...but that sounds incredibly expensive. Whole houses can be reroofed cheaper than that

Pitched or flat? Knackered or just a recent small leak? Size?

Toomanycats99 · 19/04/2020 13:06

I got a quote for £5k for a whole flat roof re roofing - probably 13' x 13'

I'll try and attach a photo, they're a reasonable size and it's an old house, but they're not massive.

Looks like it might be leaking where it joins the house so could just need new flashing and making good. 6k is way too much.

£6k is laughable. We have rental properties and I wouldn't expect any more than £1k each given what I think is the size.

We got ours done for £400, that seems extortionate! Our whole new roof was £4K.

DS paid 5k two months ago to reroof a two bed Victorian roof.

Whenwillthisbeover · 22/04/2020 06:19

Sorry whole house I meant.

Thanks all. I think we are going to make an interim repair so we can get on with getting that room dry and usable, then when lockdown is over get some more quotes.

We seem to have a real problem with getting people round to quote. They say they'll turn up then just never do, or they do come round then we never get a quote off them. Very frustrating!
