My job is due to take me down to Portsmouth (PO1 region) in the next year and so we have started the search to buy. We have two very young girls (21m and 4m) and my wife is a Maths teacher primarily.
In terms of requirements we are looking at a minimum of 3 bed, off road parking, garden and upstairs bathroom within a price of £250k.
The off road parking takes us out of living within Portsmouth itself however I am more than happy with a commute of around 45 minutes. To that end we are essentially looking in an area between Chichester, East Southampton, Eastleigh, up to Bishops Waltham and Petersfield.
We have rented, as a couple, in Drayton, Portsmouth and Portswood before so know the other areas relatively well to visit but not to live, especially with young kids and we have been out of the area for a couple of years now. We are looking for a property we can essentially make our forever home.
Any thoughts on areas (good or bad) would be greatly appreciated. We are seeing large clusters on Right Move in Fareham, Woolston, Sholing, Weston, Swaythling and Waterlooville.
