Kitchen extension

Looking for some ideas please... next year I plan to have a kitchen extension built (4m x 5m).

My initial idea is to have a l shape kitchen with a peninsula and move my current dining table to the kitchen. Would I be tight for space? The table is large and sits 8.

Or do you think a kitchen/breakfast room would work better (minus the table)?

Also, I'm thinking of an off white howdens shaker style kitchen. What could tiles do you think would go well with this?

Thanks in advance 😀

What the dimensions of the extended space be or are you thinking of moving the existing kitchen from its current location into the extension which isn't joined onto this room.

Any chance you can add a picture of your ideas?

The house is a 1930s semi. The current small kitchen will become a wc/ utility. The extension will be around 20m2. I don't have official drawings yet.

Okay so typical 1930s semi layout with have kitchen in rear corner with dining room next to it. Is the extension going across the back of the whole house, to the side or something else?

Sorry, I meant just a sketch, hand drawn, of your ideas so we can see the layout

We had a 4x5m kitchen extension and the designer at B&Q (who wasn't very good...) convinced me to have a U shaped kitchen and said it wasn't big enough for a peninsula. Six years on I still regret it! We do have an Ikea moveable island now which has made it much better. We used to have the table in the kitchen too but it was a bit of a squeeze so moved it elsewhere. When we eventually have it redone I'll have an L shape with an island I think.

(Just to clarify, the designer was wrong and I regret not going for the peninsula but!)

Hi @Katjolo you may use Graph paper, Spread sheet or if you are bit adventurous during the lockdown use Archiplan.com to draw up a rough plan.
Without a plan difficult to suggest or visualise.
