Any conveyancers on here?

Hello everyone,

We’re in the process of buying an empty property and its quite a priority as we’re key workers and it’s nearer the hospital.

Anyhoo - our conveyancer said she’s going to organise a transfer date next week.

What is a transfer date? Is that transfer of funds?

I wish I asked but now it’s the weekend and she’s obviously offline.

Thanks in advance Smile

Are you in England or Scotland?

England :)

She probably means completion, when you pay over the money and get the keys.
Email her and ask her to be specific, as you need notice in order to organize yourself. Funds need to be in the right place, paperwork needs to be read, understood and signed. Presumably you need to arrange for removals .
If you email, she might well respond over the weekend.

@DelphiniumBlue I did wonder if she meant that Shock fingers crossed.

Thank you! Yes I’ll email her.

She won't let you exchange until she knows your funds are in place. What's happening with your deposit?

It's an expression I have never heard anyone use so you need to ask your conveyancer to be a whole lot clearer. We refer to "exchange", "completion/completion date" and signing a "Transfer/Transfer Deed" (ie a physical document) but not to a transfer date!

Same here @GU2Mum, which is why I asked what country.
