Does anyone here live in an housing association property? Just wanted to know if you live in one and want to move are you limited to other properties in the same area or can you move to any area? I'm assuming you couldn't move from England to say Northern Ireland?

It depends on your tenure type. Do you have an assured tenancy? If so then generally you will have the right to exchange and that is nationwide, but it will be subject to the Landlords giving consent for the swap. To give consent the landlord will need details of your tenancy has it been conducted in a tenant like manner, eg rent paid on time, no damage to the property or anti-social behaviour, who you want to swap with, how their tenancy has been conducted, why you want to swap and the condition of the properties.
If youbswap without consent then it is likely you will end up homeless as you'll have broken your tenancy agreement and they will taken possession action.
