Hey all,

Been hearing that there will be lockdowns due to occur soon. London first probably. We are due to complete on house purchase on 31st March but now worried that we wont be able to leave London to move! Our property is outside of London.

Doubt anyone would be able to say if we would be ok or not....but if you are in a similar position let's stress out together! Hope it all works out ok!

It’s your home, you have to do it, contracts are signed d

Hopefully this will allow us to move!

What is the issue? That you won’t be able to travel or the removalist won’t turn up?

We are due to move in 3 weeks.
I just can’t see it happening 🙁

Me too, no date set in stone yet but it's scheduled for next Friday. Solicitor off with CV, someone else apparently taking over. Never in my life felt so stressed or anxious.

Supposed to be moving on the 30th - I have no idea what's happening

Because we live in London I'm worried that we won't be allowed to leave our home or something.

Or the company we are hiring a van though might be closed.

Solicitors have confirmed that completion can be done by phone...so hopefully that will go ahead fine

I suppose worried about the worst case scenario.

We are moving out of a rental so have to be out by a certain date! I really hope we can move ok! Happy to lockdown in our new home but really don't want to be stuck where we are throughout summer etc!

completion and exchange are done by phone. If you haven't exchanged then all bets are off.

rentals; if you gave notice then under normal circs you should leave, but if you don't the landlord has to take court action to remove you. If the landlord gave notice you don't have to go until the bailiff. With all evictions on hold, neither of these will happen.

We were due to exchange this week and haven’t our buyer wants to see what’s going to happen with the markets.
I’m fuming, I’ve elderly parents I really need to look after 60 miles away, where we are moving too, this has all increased the need to move not lessen it. Urgh!
