Scared our long chain will inevitably collapse

Hello,

As you may have guessed, another coronavirus one I'm afraid.

We sold just before Christmas, bought just after and have had a complete chain for about 5 weeks. A chain of 5, with a new build at the top. We are second in the chain.

Everything seems to be on track, but I suddenly realised today that actually the likelihood is at least one of us will need to back out due to the predicted/inevitable devastation on our economy.

We are lucky in that my DP can easily WFH and I am already a SAHM, so no job to lose. I have no idea about the rest of the chain, obviously.

Of course I understand the bigger picture here, but we have been trying to move for almost 2 years and now it just feels like it will all collapse and we'll be stuck here for goodness knows how long!

My MH has been shattered over the past couple of years and being here has been a big contributor.

Anyone else in a similar situation?

I'm worrying about this too. We are in a chain of 3 so not very big but obviously there are still risks and we don't know what the other people do as jobs. Everything has been done search wise etc and we are just waiting on the exchange/completion dates. I'm really worrying it's going to fall apart! We are going to call the solicitors tomorrow for some reassurance. Hope everything goes okay for you

@lustforlife, it sounds like you're at exactly the same position as us.

Initially I was thinking, how are we actually going to move if removals companies aren't business as usual? Hadn't thought about all this until today.

We are in a chain of 3 too, accepted an offer a month ago now. All of our paperwork is complete as far as it can be. Just waiting on our buyer and hoping that the chain doesn't collapse.
