Moving to Lymington

Hi All,
This is my first post in about 5 years!
We are hoping to move to Lymington and looking for some insight into what it is like there. Our children are primary school ages so we are looking for a good primary and secondary (most importantly). We are also looking for a friendly community that is welcoming of newcomers, a friendly community is really important to us as this will be a long-term move.
I work as a mental health nurse and am hoping for work nearby.
Any insight we would be super grateful! but also any suggestions of similar areas nearby worth considering would be wonderful.
We could not afford to live anywhere more expensive than Lymington though!
thank you

Hi, I'm not sure how to post a new thread on here so I'm following and commenting on yours. We're also wondering what Lymington is like for new families with school age kids. I have 7, 10, and 13 yo, and particularly concerned about what like is like for new teenager in town. Is it welcoming for that age, things to do? He likes basketball, is there enough of a league. If heard it's been a retirement community so wonder if it's a good place to raise teens or rather move close to somewhere like Southampton?? Any info appreciated. Husband's office based in London but largely work from home and I'll be looking for position as math/physics teacher somewhere.

Have you got a job to go to. Whats your budget. Christchurch or Ringwood have more to do.

Lymington is lovely for a visit but limited for residents, great walking nearby, very yachty and horsey! Limited for teenagers, Bournemouth and Southampton not that close. A bit of a retirement/2nd home Londoner vibe. Lymington hospital is very good. Personally I would prefer Romsey, lovely town and better connections, worth checkinh out maybe?

Thanks so much, that's fantastic help. We'll have a look at Christchurch, Ringwood and Romsey.

If you join Romsey News and Information Group on Facebook and search 'moving' lots of useful posts are displayed about the area, schools etc in answer to questions from others who are planning or had planned a move. Good luck x

We love in Romsey (currently exchanging contracts to move to another village)

Romsey is lovely, we are moving for better schools. (Baby is 9 months) but the secondary schools here are good, there is also a leisure centre, skate park, good park with tennis courts (free to use) and a library! Easy trains to southampton etc.

We drive to forest and lots of lovely walks nearby!
