Listing with same estate agent as seller

Hi

This will be our first time buying with a chain. Can people who have sold and bought in the same area advise on good tips. I’m wary of greedy estate agents

Is it better to list your own house with the same estate agent as the house you’re offering on? Or avoid this scenario

Any tips for making it a smoother process

certainly if a single agent is managing more than one house in a single chain they will put more effort into ensuring the chain doesn't collapse as they have more to lose.

however its unusual to be not yet even marketing your property when you want to make an offer. your offer is likely to be dismissed as not procedable. if no other offers are forthcoming you may find the agents pressure you to market your property priced cheaper than you want to for a quick sale in three interests of processing the chain.

I would advise that you don't get too fixated on this potential new property. choose an agent regardless of this issue. get an offer on your current property and then start looking around.
