Hi all. I'm on the planning stage of giving my kitchen a makeover. Replacing worktop, sink, tiles and handles. Cabinets are walnut effect slab style doors. I've only a small budget so to play with so was looking at a white laminate?

Can anyone recommend a brand of laminate that is reasonable quality and hard-wearing? Or are they all much the same? Ikea? Duropal? As lovely as it is I can't afford stone or solid laminates.

I'd also welcome any tips on what looks good with the walnut cabinets 😕
Thanks x

Duropal are a good make. They do a pale quartz look worktop which might look better than plain white.

Thank you. I will take a look. Do people generally prefer the stone effect laminate? I was concerned it might just look like I couldn't afford the real thing! (Which I can't, but people don't need to know that 😁). I thought using white might look more like a style choice? But perhaps not! I do appreciate people's opinions as I'm inexperienced in this kind of thing and don't want to make a rookie mistake x

I’m not sure white work tops on a dark wood kitchen would actually look good. Do you have images of such a thing?

I was thinking of this kind of thing colour wise...

Looks nice from that image. I would avoid stone effect if you are on a tight budget - 'effects' can look a bit cheap unless they're pricey. But of course I haven't seen the options. I like your ideas so far though Smile

Thanks ArriveBy9 I was thinking that with the stone effect. I appreciate your reassurance on my vision 😁
