Has anyone added indoor stairs to a cellar

I am thinking if downsizing. I have found somewhere I like the look of but would prefer the second bedroom to be a second reception .....but I need two bedrooms.

There is a dry, heated cellar but it only has access from the outside.

I wondered whether there was any mileage in putting a staircase in from the inside hallway so the cellar could be used as a bedroom.

It’s a Victorian mansion conversation so I would expect wooden floorboards.

My builder is on holiday until next week. I will ask him to have a look with me when he gets back but wondered if anyone had done something similar.

We replaced internal stairs that went down to a basement room. There were strict Building regs regarding head height, width of stair and riser and fire restrictions.
We had to change the layout of the upper floor hallway and put a lobby at the bottom with a fire door into the room.
This was done as part of a whole house refurb, so I’ve not got an individual price.
