Hi. Anyone mind telling me how much they have been quoted or paid to replace a flat roof above a garage. Been quoted 4k for half a garage roof 😮

My friend has just been quoted around £900 for hers.

This was from a local independent roofer. At £4000 they clearly just don’t want the Job.

Mine was £1100 [both a new deck and felt roof] around 8 years ago but it's a double garage. I would say around £800-900 sounds about right. Also depends on which part of the UK you are too.
I'm SW.

Ah thanks. I'm having an extension done and converted half the garage but the roof will be higher for that part than the rest of it so wanted it all the same height. Everything else he has quoted seems reasonable but this but obviously had nothing to base it on so thanks for your replies. Going to say to leave it and will get an independent in after the extension is done

I'm northwest. I should say it does include removing the concrete roof that is there but still seems a lot

I don’t think it is based on that info. It’s a lot of work plus prep for the new roof. You are being unrealistic and it’s best for existing contractor to do it to join it in properly with flashing if needed. Also make sure it has a fall on it. It’s not a like for like roof is it? It’s a project!
