New build - what level of survey and likely cost?

We are contemplating buying a new build house and do not need a mortgage. I think we should still have a survey though - but what level would be appropriate for that? Is the cost of the survey related to the size of the house, or its cost? (It’s 4 bed, £425K and in Devon)

Probably a snagging survey or a homebuyers. If you’re actually concerned about structural issues, then a building survey. Have a look on the RICS website and it will give a breakdown of the differences in the reports (although it won’t detail the snagging one, as this isn’t a product the RICS do)
