Selling without an estate agent?

I have a flat that I let. The current tenant are interested in buying it from me. I’m thinking that if I do sell to them I won’t need an agent as it won’t need to be marketed? What else does an agent do?

If you are happy negotiating the price go ahead.
I did it twice no need for an agent

Sounds like a win all round really if you've agreed a price you're both happy with.

I would obviously have a solicitor but is there anything else that the agent does that I would need to be aware of?

Make sure you have a valid EPC Smile

Yes, got that as I needed it for the letting.

Did you use an agent to find the tenant? Check the terms you agreed with the agent. - there may be a clause that you have to pay them a few if you sell to the tenant because they made the introduction.

Fee, not few

Ah, good advice. Thank you.

I did this a couple of years ago. Split the agent saving with my tenant. Just make sure
You've got a good solicitor working for you and that you're able to be open and honest with the tenant about getting the paperwork done swiftly and you'll be fine.
