Mould in New Build garage

Hi everyone! We bought our first home (new build) in Sept 2019 and stored everything we don’t need right away into the garage over winter. So today we are going though our garage to have a big sort out and notice that everything has mould on it! We also noticed that our garage has NO ventilation! I guess this is why we have the mould problem. Is this legal? Has anyone else had this issue with a new build? Would love to hear from anyone who has had the same issue. Thanks!

Just bumping this for you, OP. Hopefully someone will be along soon who knows more.

In the meantime, if you have electricity to your garage, could you try a dehumidifier in there to dry it out before sorting the ventilation?

I haven't had the same but even though we do have ventilation bricks in our garage I wouldn't leave anything that could be damaged by mould for any length of time. Even in summer. It just gets too cold.

If you need to use your garage for storage then you could ask your builder to insulate it (or diy).
