Show me your office/guest bedroom etc..

I live alone in a three bedroomed house and I’d like to make more use of the rooms I have.

Theyre all double rooms, two are currently bedrooms with double beds & wardrobes etc. and the other is a home office which has a desk & chair, bookcase and tripple wardrobe.

Hardly anyone ever stays over these days (once a year maybe) and when i work from home, i have my laptop on my knee on the sofa or at the dining table downstairs.

If you were me, how would you use these rooms?

I’d like somewhere to do my weights and workouts but apart from that, Ive no real idea.

If you've done similar, can you show me?

Do you still want to keep a guest bedroom? Otherwise it makes sense to keep and office and use another one as a gym type room? What stops you using the one set up as an office when you work from home?
Or do you do something radical like downsize? I guess that depends on how much you love your house or want the space.

I’d still like to br able to put people up in a private room but i suppose i could do it on a day bed or sofa bed/futon type thing.

I dont use the current office as its small and dark.

We’ve got a spare room and another room which is an office with a daybed, just in case we have a few people staying over. The day bed is the Hemnes one from Ikea, pulls out into a king, great for sleeping on but folds away nicely and looks great as a ‘sofa’ in the office when not needed.

Our second bedroom is a guestroom. DH quite often sleeps in there due to early start/snoring/cats. Third bedroom has his bike cross trainer thing plus the ironing board. Desktop computer is on the landing.

Hemnes is the answer. If space is tight there is a slightly smaller, less attractive option called Brimnes. Same size mattresses though.

Agree...we have our spare room as an office which I use when I work from home, with an IKEA hemnes daybed which is perfect for us. We store the bedding in the drawers below. It can be transformed in to a fully functioning comfortable bed in a minute.

I have a large sofabed (Ikea, similar to the Nyhamn model), plus my desk plus some gym equipment, all in one room. I would like it more aesthetically done but it works well enough.

I've always liked the look of those beds that you pull down. Just looked it up, they're called Murphey beds. Get one of those and you'll have loads of space to fill with whatever you want.
