Does anyone have a toilet seat similar to this? I need to find a replacement and cannot find one with this fixing?

OP that plastic bit is not part of the actual toilet bowl it’s part of the toilet seat . Just remove that and there will be two holes for replacing a toilet seat that you will be able to buy anywhere .

Thanks for the reply. There's no hole for the normal toilet seat bolts to go through. It's just two screw size holes. Which don't go all the way through the toilet.

Have you taken the picture to somewhere like B&Q and asking them?

Branster · 22/02/2020 07:57

Have you tried an independent plumbers shop? Take pictures of the actual seat as well because each come with their own matching lid, shapes are slightly different.
I hope it’s not from a soft close mechanism - replaced one of ours not that long ago and it was nearly £100 and could only find it through the original supplier of the bathroom suite (luckily quite new fit and independent).

Does the loo have a brand anywhere on it?
As it only has holes on top is it wall hung...they're the worst!
If it's got a brand name call them and ask.they might want a pic of the whole loo otherwise as pp suggested an independent plumbers. Seats come in all sizes and shapes do draw around your loo on a big piece of paper yo compare yo the one upull need.

I think I'll have to go to an independent shop. I've scoured the internet and nothing. Thanks for all your help.

I am with Herky. That looks like part of the old toilet seat that needs taking off. Are you 100% sure there aren't two holes underneath? I renovate loads of houses and have never seen that fixing.

ultrababy · 22/02/2020 08:16

No definitely not two holes that go all the way thorough like the normal bolt fixings do. Just those two screw holes. There's no brand on the toilet either. Arghhhh!!!!

Try looking for a top fitting toilet seat, I think that’s what you have there.

I spent last weekend locked in a life and death struggle with a busted toilet seat.
Whilst I did not have fixings that looked like this I learnt the following lessons.

You, like me / us appear to have a ‘D’ shaped toilet and will need a D shaped seat. Take it with you when shopping As there is an appalling variety of shapes.
Some have fitting holes that can only be accessed from the top, on others you can access from the top and bottom.
Carefully unscrew whatever these fittings are and remove them. Fishing drowned bits out of the U bend is never nice.
If as you say the fittings can only be accessed from the top you will find some sort of plastic plug pushed into the ceramic unit. These are what the screws visible in your photo should screw into. If you pull or gently lever these plug thingies out you should find you now have two standard holes. If you don’t, put it back together, ignore me and contact someone who knows what they are doing.
If you do have the holes, go and buy a new seat that is the same shape and dimensions as the old one. Ensure it has ‘Top’ fittings included in the pack. Some don’t.
I managed to fit the new one from B&Q in about 5 minutes by just following the instructions.
Hope this helps

@ultrababy
Yes ..... these are the sort of plug thingies I was thinking about. I found new ones came with the new seat fittings.
