Hey all - I've heard great things about the Bora hob but it is £££ - has anyone got any of the other brands now on the market? Particularly keen on hearing of anyone has the Elica Nikola Tesla - seems like a cost effective option but can't seem to find loads of reviews on it.

Thanks!

Watching with interest!

The only ones I have experience of are the Neff ones. They’re good, but the one thing I will say is it renders at least the cabinet underneath it totally useless. The extraction system underneath is MASSIVE on these things. If you don’t have space to sacrifice I wouldn’t get a vented hob.

Ikea have just launched one, am intrigued. I have a big kitchen but hardly any wall space (massive windows).

Stop press! I've never used an IKEA appliance before but have lots of faith in their brand. Definitely one to keep an eye on!

Space below isn't an issue, I just don't want an overhanging extractor messing with my pendant mojo.

I have been wondering about these too. All the kitchen shops seem to recommend bora, possibly becuase they get a good commission as bora don't seem to sell directly to the consumer online. I found this discussion about the merits of some of them

There is another discussion here

I would be very interested to hear anyones experiences of the ikea one as it is half the price of the cheapest bora
