Buying/selling legal costs

First time seller here, when we bought our first property we paid the solicitor approx £1000 for the searches etc.
Now we are moving to our second property and I’m trying to work our costs and I'm wondering how much to budget for legal costs.
An online search says £1000 for buying and I expect that to be the same but how much do we need to pay them for the selling side? I know costs can vary so don’t expect an exact cost.
Thanks

My mum is currently in the process of selling her house and paying around £500 legal fees

We have just gone through all this, everything from selling to buying and moving in. All legal fees, serches, and moving itself came in at £3.2k I have taken out stamp duty and EA fees. Which add on another £14k cries

My sale and purchase will cost about £1.5k in legal fees.

Our sale and purchase was £425 plus vat and £475 plus vat respectively, plus around £40 in extra fees for ID checks and bank transfer etc.

Oh wow I knew prices would vary but not by those amounts! @Slightlysurviving ouch at the stamp duty ours will only be about £1500 which is annoying enough! Thanks all
