Condition of walls when selling house

Hello,
We are getting ready to move to our new house and have started packing.
I have been taking pictures off the walls and when pulling the sticky strip off, some of the paint from the walls came off too.
My husband thinks we should fill it and paint over (I have all the colours) but I don’t think that is expected of us.
We certainly weren’t bothered about all the nails left behind in our new house.
May I ask what the expected standard is?
Thanks a lot!

I would probably have left the sticky strips in place! (is it those command strips?).
I have bought and sold quite a few times. I have never removed picture hooks (unless they fell out when I was taking the picture down), and they have never been removed in houses I have moved to. I have always found this quite handy because you can put some pictures up straight away instead of leaving them on the floor.
I have never done any minor decorating after exchange. I would never expect the owners of a property I was buying to have done minor repairs either. I have left people matching paint pots though - and they have also been left for me.

In my experience, it's fine to leave hooks up, but if you remove them you need to make good. You shouldn't leave an eyesore that the new owners can't quickly cover up

Thanks, the rest are just nails so they don’t look too bad.

I think I’ll paint that wall, it’s small and it won’t take me long.

Thanks!
