Yay or nay? - Heated towel rail over bath

So my sister is having a bit of a bathroom planning dilemma. She wants to have a separate shower cabin and bath tub, but that means that the heated towel rail would need to go on either side of the bathtub. The towel rail she picked seems more than adequate for the room at 3,600 BTU but her husband says the air won't circulate well with this positioning and the rail show be by the door to heat the room well.

Anyone has a heated towel rail above the bath? Thoughts? Smile

We have one above the bath plus a heated floor, together they keep the room warm and dry.

Mine’s at the end of bath (opp end to taps). Room is toasty.

Ours is there and it's fine

ours is same as @chateau but we also have a separate radiator too,

That's great to hear. I also think that choosing the right BTU is more important than the radiator's location.

Not electric, I hope?

We have it on the opposite wall to the bath and the boiler cupboard, the pipes then go under the tiled floor and act as underfloor heating at no extra cost Grin

I wouldn’t put it near the bath, only because if someone slips, their instinct is to grab onto whatever is nearby. Grabbing onto a hot towel rail isn’t going to help.

Towels will ( might) fall into bath too. It's a no from me
