House Buy

Hello All,

We saw a property in Sutton. The seller might sell at about 35K below his asking price (still negotiating), however only because of the train tracks at the back of the garden. It is probably at 20-25 feet away from the house.

We are going to check the EM readings and hopefully the vibration levels etc. We have a 10 month old baby, so a bit concerned about any health hazards.

However, this is a house we really like, the property was marketed initially for 550, but they have come down given this has put off other buyers.

What are your thoughts on this? Should we buy knowing it will be difficult to sell in future? (atleast 6-7 months, however we are not buying to sell). If we do buy, what should our offer be compared to similar properties without the train track?

Also, though it has good schools nearby, there are no outstanding primary schools as of now. However, by the time my baby comes to it, it can all change? Sorry, pondering on a lot of things, I am so confused.

Your inputs will be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

NewMumToBe

I find the noise of trains soothing. I would subject to reports. Smile

I’m a total country bumpkin and couldn’t live on a road, but I’d live by a train line.
