House buying process

In the process of buying a house, mortgage application is in haven’t been requested any further documents and valuation is booked for tomorrow. In touch with the surveyor who is going to do the home buyer report once offer is accepted. Handed all paperwork and ID into solicitors last Friday but haven’t heard anything. What is the usual process on the solicitors side of things? Do I wait for them to get in touch? What was your timeline? Thanks

It's very difficult to describe what a normal process is, there are so many variables that could affect how quickly or slowly things progress.

Are you buying a freehold or leasehold property?
Is the chain compolete above?
Has the vendors solicitor sent your solicitor a draft contract with other supporting documentation?
How long do local authority searches take in your area?
