Are LED Fluorescent tubes ok?

I like the idea of eco but I need loads of light

We replaced our fluorescent tube with an LED batten light about a year ago, and it's fine - looks much brighter, though some of that may be due to the cover on the previous one having gone a bit yellow. Make sure you know which white you're getting, ours is in the kitchen, so I went for cool white, but you may prefer the warm one.
The one thing I still haven't really got used to is how it comes on instantly, instead of that flicker you get with fluorescent ones...
