Who has done this? Which paint brand did you use? How has it lasted?

Pic of my kitchen, only thing changed is washing machine is white and a new blind otherwise this is how it is.

I really dont like the wooden cupboards and thi king an affordable way is to paint it a dove grey colour and new handles.

Also if you did paint did you leave all the doors on etc.

My dd and SiL used the special cupboard paint on the doors of really horrible dark brown melamine cupboards in the kitchen of their ‘new’ house. The doors were eventually going anyway in a couple of years, since they were planning an extension. IIRC they did no special prep and didn’t take the doors off, but then it was never going to be a long term thing.
However they looked fine and the transformation was amazing.

I used the same sort of paint on a whole wall of horrible melamine fitted wardrobes and drawers. Couldn’t take the doors off, only the handles, but I did rub down thoroughly and applied two thin coats.
With new handles too, the transformation was well worth the considerable effort! Total cost inc. handles just £65.

Personally I’d go for it, but would do very careful prep - admittedly a faff - to make sure all the effort would be well worth it.

If you look up Frenchic Fan forum on Fb, a lot of people have painted their kitchens and seem to have had really good results.
It is this paint:

Thanks so much thats great to know that with or without sanding down a painted look can be achieved! I'll definitely decrease them though!

The money you spent is what I was looking to spend thereabouts. Plus might change my kitchen tap over and timescale keeps building up on the joint. Smile

As others have said Spira bars and Pacers. I also loved Tootie Frooties and the rarer Tootie Minties.
