Mortgage advice

I can't find anything about this...

Me and my hubby are currently looking to buy a house. We are currently East Mids but want to relocate up North as it's far cheaper.

Problem is.. would it be easier getting mortgage then moving or move and then try to get a mortgage?

(Only because the job I'm in now is so well paid and once relocating I'll be starting my own business)

Not too sure what's the best plan of action.

You will find it much easier to apply while employed as you are than with a new business.

You’ll be asked if there are any likely changes to your income as part of the mortgage process anyway.

Will you be starting your own business in the field you are currently working in? What about your DH income- if you move assume he is moving jobs also? Or a relocation of the same job?
If he is staying with the same employer could the potential new mortgage be applied for on just his income? you going self employed will seriously dent your borrowing potential.
Lots of variables in your situation.
