I’m thinking of moving to Weymouth - any tips/views from people who live there? Places to avoid? I live on my own (grown up children) so was thinking of a flat near the harbour? Would love to hear your thoughts X

Avoid flats near Chapelhay Street.

Parking can be tricky, so best to go for somewhere with allocated space. I like Bincleaves which is above old harbour. Bit of a hill to get back but easy walk down. Quite a few places like Greenhill and Overcombe have flats and are near the seafront. If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your budget?

Oh that’s really useful! Thank you.... My budget is really maximum £200k. Do you think that’s a possibility with the areas you’ve mentioned? X

Yes, you should be able to buy at that budget. I would provide clicky links if I knew how but if you go on to rightmove and put in your requirements, there are a few on there. Also look at Rodwell, which is next to Bincleaves. There is one at Wellington Court, which is within easy walking of the harbour. There is also one in St Thomas Street, with large roof terrace, which is right by the town bridge. No parking with that though. Forgot to say, Weymouth is a town that has it’s problems but I love living there.

Oh thank you so much - that’s hugely helpful . We spent quite a few family holidays there and loved it. Every place has its problems - I live near Brighton which has its fair share! I’ve been pouring over Rightmove so will look at those properties. Thank you!
