Does anyone know how much it would cost to get a spy hole fitted in a standard wooden front door?

Whatever it costs in your area to have a carpenter (preferably) or a skilled handyman do a house call plus minimum charge. Fifty pounds? Less? Twice that for a locksmith.

Maybe have any locks, bolts, chains done at the same time. Is your letterbox near enough to the doorhandle or lock that a simple home-made tool could reach through and open it?

If so, consider adding an internal box or strong cage.
