End of terrace pros and cons

Hi, I’m currently going through a sale for an end terrace. It is early days, and the valuation has not been done yet. I am going to see the property for a second time next week, but I just want to prepare myself and know what questions to ask the vendor. Also, my mortgage advisor advised to get another report in addition to the mortgage valuation that my lender will do - either a homebuyers or building survey - can anyone provide advice on this?

Always Get a full survey if you can afford it.
Regarding end of terrace I would see that as a bonus to be honest. You should get side access to the garden which is useful, if you do then you get a wider garden than everyone else, a wider driveway if you have one and might even have a slightly wider house. You are also more likely to get windows on the side of the house for added light.

If you are planning a loft conversion then look at whether the roof is a ‘hip end’ or a ‘gable end’. A hip end needs additional work to convert to convert it (funnily enough it’s called a ‘hip to gable’.) If an end of terrace with a hip end had been available when we bought on our road I would have snapped it up even with the extra to convert the loft.
You also have better rear extension options.
Not sure about questions for the vendor that are specific to the end of terrace nature of the house.
