Porcelain patio

Hi, im looking for any feedback about porcelain patios please. One of the concerns I have is that a lot of the photos I look at online are of shiny patios but maybe because the photos are taking straight after the patio has been washed? Are porcelain paving slabs generally shiny? If you've gone with porcelain are you happy with it please?

Slippery when wet
Green when it goes mouldy
Easy to crack
Why would you even do it?

Had ours down for well over a yr
you can buy frost proof, anti slip and matt.
They need to be put down with a drop leading towards a drain or towards the grass for all the nice rain we have

Very happy with ours
Frost free
Matt so non slip
Looks fantastic 4yrs on

@GoFiguire Do you have porcelain paving? We are considering putting it down for the exact opposite reasons you have stated: doesn't absorb water so less prone to discolouration and algae, very durable and not slippy! I'm interested to know if our research is wrong and if you have personal experience of it before we make an expensive mistake!

We're the same. Just about to put down ceramic patio- we're having the same tiles inside and out so it's seamless from the kitchen, through the sliding doors onto the patio. The outdoor ones are thicker and rougher but the guarantee is tract they won't discolour, absorb water, crack or have things grow on them. It's quite a long guarantee period so I'm hoping we're ok!

I did it..extended the kitchen floor to outside. Scrub with a brush and washing powder a couple of times a year and it's fine. Have had it 5.5 years and no issues at all
