Looking for places to live in Oxfordshire

hello Smile

My partner and I are in the process of looking for places to live for our first home, we both LOVE Faringdon in Oxfordshire. The style of houses, price and generally looks like a lovely little village.

Does anyone have any advice or general opinions of where we should look?

Thanks
Chloe xx

I live in a Northamptonshire village just on the outskirts of Oxfordshire near Banbury and there are lots of lovely villages around here about 40 minutes from the city!

Do you think there's a reason why houses are so cheap, is it because the area is rough or ?xx

we had friends in Faringdon(they have moved now though) was a lovely place and they totally felt at home there. (Now working and living in Switzerland )

We have just completed on our first home in Faringdon! Have lived in the town for 3 years already though! Absolutely adore it, wouldn't consider living anywhere else. I am born and bred in Oxfordshire and have lived at the very north and the very south as well as in the city. I think it's slightly cheaper here as it's technically not an OX postcode (SN) but still considered Oxfordshire. If you have any questions I'm happy to answer!

Hi @polkadotknickers,

Thank you for your reply!!

Yes, I seem to recall it being a SN postcode, I am not fussed by this to be honest! Faringdon looks like such a beautiful traditional village which is what we want, there is a few houses we have seen on rightmove but we really need to come up and view the village for ourselves. I work in Bracknell currently and OH - Reading so not a long commute.

Would you recommend any good locations within Faringdon to look at properties? (we are wanting a house, 3 bedrooms, garden and parking).

What are the shops like in Faringdon?

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated - thank you !!! Grin Flowers
