Doubts over EA

I booked a viewing recently and EA said that I would need to book an appointment with their in-house financial advisor so I would : get a successful offer and that I would be unlikely to secure a successful offer with seeing the FA.
I mentioned I had Decision in principle from a broker , but he rubbished it and was again pushed for their in house person. It all sounds a bit dodgy, I feel like cancelling the viewing now.

Dodgy as hell.

I’d pop a note through the door of the house letting the owners know what their EA is up to.

Yes, i could do that. He was also trying to persuade me to view another property, which didn’t even meet my specifications. It was almost as if he was steering me away from the property I like.

Just be firm that you don't need to see their mortgage adviser as you have made your own arrangements. They are not going to lose a potential sale over this. They will have a target to meet referring buyers to their colleague. I wouldn't put a note through unless you get stonewalled when you refuse.

I bet they if you said you would pull out of the viewing if he didn't stop trying to coerce you into seeing the mortgage adviser he'd back down.
