Bad experience with Estate Agent

On the search for our first home - had a weird situation on Saturday with Estate Agent

He called me last week to arrange a viewing of one flat I wanted to see - then said he had 3 more I may like - he booked me time slots for them - I did make it clear that I was in work on Saturday so wasn't sure I'd make them all but could definitely do the last one!! He said no problem if you can make it see you then (so I assumed no pressure)

Then he tried to insist I see his in house financial person (which they always ask - but I always decline as we have our own broker already!)

Went in the viewing anyway and he was all lovely etc while in the viewing - then on the way out he turned nasty - he said we had to come back to the office to meet their financial adviser, why can't we come there now??

I again declined and his final words to me were - if you are not careful we will remove you from our books and you won't see anymore properties!

I actually laughed out loud at this - WTF - you can't treat prospective buyers like this surely??

I will not work with this agency again - and was going to let it go - but the more I think about it I think I want to complain??

Do you think it's worth complaining or should I just move on and forget about it!!

I assume that other agencies are available and suspect that this chap won't be in a job very long as punters will use the other ones - I would go out of my way to ensure he gets nothing from me.

I’d complain. For a job that relies partly on rapport to secure sales he’s not doing very well.....

Mad isn't it really - There are about 20 other estate agents on the same row of businesses on the same street - so not a lack of alternatives to use!

I will definitely not be using these guys!

if its a family owned and run business I'd complain to his superiors, if a national I'd just not bother with them again.

Complain and go somewhere else... why would you want him getting commission?

I won’t be using them again! I just wanted to not let the lad we dealt with josh continue to get away with that kind of behaviour ! But il probably just leave it tbh - don’t think it’s worth the fight
