Sole Mortgage Application Advice

My husband and I were gifted £10,000 from a relative lately and have decided to try for a mortgage. He is 49 and i am 36. We are both first time buyers.
I have a fair credit rating just teetering on good (i have a couple of outstanding credit cards) but my husband has a poor one.
Got an appointment with a broker next week. I earn a good wage and am the higher earner and was wondering if i could apply for a mortgage myself without his name on the application? I stay in Scotland.
Any advice appreciated!

I think affordability and your credit history (scores dont mean anything) will be your primary focus.

Have you plugged numbers into some of the online calculators or got a DIP (Soft search)?

I didn't have any credit card debts, but I got our mortgage just on me. Worked out well :-)

i got a mortgage alone. Very low side of average wage, defo the right thing to see a broker, get a decent deal.

I also got a mortgage alone. It was really easy.
