I bought this but it’s not great. www.screwfix.com/p/norton-expert-contour-sanding-pads-fine-medium-pack-of-2/9971D?tc=FB7&ds_kid=92700022649301736&gclsrc=aw.ds&ds_rl=1241687&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1243321&gclid=Cj0KCQiAvJXxBRCeARIsAMSkApohELryJuIOPqO4HXsF3bbx9GbJqJfwRLPBWfxL48SdmGOrobnQMGcaAoxoEALw_wcB

It’s oil based gloss so maybe harder than water based?.

Sanding oil based gloss is a pain in the neck. Strip it with a heat gun then sand the bare wood.

Agree with stripping it with a heat gun, takes time but it’s so worth it.

I’ve got 5 door frames to do and it’s not flat either.

It doesn't take that long to strip with a heat gun and you use a shave hook to scrape it off - it doesn't need to be flat.
