Burgess hill and surrounding areas

We currently live in South East London but my partner works in Burgess hill.

We're looking at possibly moving closer to his work, I've not been to the area yet but wondered what people's opinions were of it? We're in our early 30's with an almost 2 year old - so what are the nurseries and schools like in the area, is it a good Area for young families, is it safe etc?

Burgess hill town is currently looking a bit unloved! It's due to have a redevelopment but with these things there have been hold ups. I'm can't comment on schools but there's the usual baby groups. There is also jumpin which is an indoor inflatable soft play and they hold toddler sessions.
There is also Hayward's Heath which is slightly more expensive to buy a house. It has the Broadway with restaurants and bars then the high street. It has Next and Fat face and JoJo Maman babe but that's about it for shops! There are some mother and toddler groups and I think most of the schools are rated good or higher.
Then you have Bolnore village which is kind of in between the 2. Lots of different types of property there and a school.
Hope that helps x

There's also lots of smaller villages around here. Lindfield is a nice one. Pubs, pond, church hall etc.

I lived in Burgess Hill for years, now live in Haywards Heath. As a previous poster said, B. H Is a but run down. There are some lovely villages nearby , Ditching, Cuckfield and Lindfield but they are expensive for property. Schools I think aren't bad . It's quite a nice area and Brighton is nearby and of course you can get to london in about 45 mins by train.
